On January 10th, 2024 Baidu E-commerce Eco Conference was held in Guangzhou for the first time.More than 400 enterprises from all over the country attended the conference, of which 25% of Baidu merchants came from Guangzhou. This conference focuses on the new track of artificial intelligence AI, and accelerates the practice of artificial intelligence technology in live e-commerce scenes through AI-independent research and development of ecological alliance. January 19th - January 21st, 2024, Macao-Guangzhou Products Fair was successfully held at the Poly World Trade Centre Expo in Guangzhou. On February 19th, the Guangdong Province High-Quality Development Conference was held in Guangzhou.The conference focused on the primary task of high-quality development, accelerating the mutual promotion of industry and technology, and embarking on a “second entrepreneurial phase” to vigorously write a new chapter in Guangzhou’s high-quality development. February 27th - February 29th, The 46th Guangzhou International Franchise Exhibition was held at Area B of the Canton Fair Complex.The exhibition covered multiple popular entrepreneurial franchise sectors, including tea and coffee beverages, snacks and fast food, formal dining, bakery retail, as well as non-food-related franchise projects. On March 20th, the first Guangzhou International Aviation Maintenance Engineering and Ground Services Exhibition at Hall 1 and 2 of the Guangzhou Aerotropolis

On April 15th, the 135th China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair) was held in Guangzhou. The first phase of the fair focused on “Advanced Manufacturing,” highlighting advanced industries and technological support. With over 8,700 exhibition booths and nearly 3,600 exhibiting companies, the event showcased emerging enterprises, including those in electronics, home appliances, new energy, new energy vehicles, smart mobility, and intelligent manufacturing.
On April 18th, Premier Li Qiang visited the enterprise exhibition hall at the 135th Canton Fair. At the 2024 China Exhibition Economy Research Association Annual Conference and the China Exhibition Economy High-Quality Development (Changsha) Forum, the China Convention / Exhibition / Event Society released the “2023 Annual China Exhibition Data Report.” The report revealed that the exhibition industry fully recovered in 2023, with a total of 7,852 offline exhibitions held nationwide, covering an area of 14.345 million square meters, almost reaching the level of 2019. Among them, Guangzhou’s exhibition scale ranked second in the country.
On May 5th, The 135th Canton Fair successfully concluded in Guangzhou. By May 4, 246,000 overseas buyers from 215 countries and regions attended the fair, marking a 24.5% increase compared to the previous session and setting a new record. Offline export transactions reached $24.7 billion, a 10.7% increase from the previous fair. Transactions with buyers from emerging markets were strong, with deals amounting to $13.86 billion from countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative, a 13% increase compared to last year. The average transaction value from European and American traditional markets was higher. Online platform transactions also saw increasing activity, with export transactions reaching $3.03 billion, a 33.1% growth compared to the previous session.

From August 16th to August 20th, 2024 Southern China Book Festival and Yangcheng Book Fair opened grandly at Hall B of the Canton Fair Complex. From mid-August to the end of December, the Guangzhou Municipal Commerce Bureau, in collaboration with Gaode Taxi and Didi , launched a taxi discount promotion for business and exhibition attendees in Guangzhou.
