Introduction: Cantonese turnip cake is a classic delicacy of the Han nationality in Guangdong. It is made from shredded radish, plain rice flour, diced Chinese sausage and minced dried shrimp. It tastes tender, salty and fragrant. The snack is also commonly eaten during Chinese New Year since radish is called caitou in some part of China, which is a homophone for "good fortune" (hao caitou). Besides, white radish is in season in winter.
