The "Chic HK" exhibition, hosted by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), opened in Guangzhou on Jan 9, running until Jan 13.
The exhibition, supported by the Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province and the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Guangzhou Sub-Council, has attracted more than 180 brands from over 70 Hong Kong exhibitors. The number of visitors is expected to exceed over 100,000.
The exhibition, covering a total area of 12,000 square meters, is filled with stylish design. An exhibitor from Hong Kong praised the exhibition area as being full of Hong Kong style from its decoration to atmosphere.
"We also do e-commerce business, yet companies on the Chinese mainland have more experiences, so we hope to carry out business matchmaking with these companies during the exhibition," said an exhibitor of home appliances.
Li Zhijian, president of the Asia-Pacific Innovation Economic Research Institute, said that it has been a great breakthrough in the cooperation of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area that Hong Kong and Macao set up independent exhibitions in Guangzhou.
"Some international prestigious exhibitions will take place in Guangzhou after they close in Hong Kong, which will promote the sharing of exhibition resources between Guangzhou and Hong Kong," noted Li.
Li added that allowing Hong Kong and Macao to hold exhibitions in Guangzhou can promote the transformation and upgrading of Guangzhou's exhibitions industry.
