According to the GADD, 13 projects worth about 46 billion yuan got green light in the district. These projects include the South China biomedical product distribution center and JD.com’s South China headquarters and its retail company for medical equipment and health-care products.

In addition, 32 projects with an investment of 11 billion yuan broke ground at the same day. They include the CAE Asian-Pacific aviation training center and VIP.com’s Guangzhou cross-border e-commerce operation center.

The 45 projects cover a wide range of sectors such as aircraft maintenance, logistics, aviation training, finance and cross-border e-commerce. These new projects are expected to cluster more companies in the fields of logistics, cross-border e-commerce and aircraft maintenance and boost the economic development in the district.

According to GADD, the district has pushed forward a series of incentive policies to help companies back to work and support their development during the epidemic. The Baiyun International Airport’s comprehensive bonded zone witnessed a 61.1 percent increase of foreign trade volume to more than 2.2 billion yuan in January and February. The district had more than 12.2 million cross-border e-commerce deals, which grew 33.4 percent and accounted for 97 percent of the city’s total.

Thus far, GADD has resumed all of its construction projects and its comprehensive bonded zone in Baiyun Airport is almost in full swing.

In addition, GADD announced the Long Gang Road was officially open to traffic during the ceremony, which is expected to facilitate the transport network around the Baiyun Airport.

Officials of the Guangzhou municipal government and related departments as well as representatives of major enterprises including China Southern, GAMECO and JD.com attended the ceremony.
