The 2020 Hainan Province Global Talent Recruitment Conference was successfully held in Guangzhou on October 31st. The conference attracted more than 200 international talents and organized 15 Hainan enterprises and institutions in key industries, including tourism services, medical health, education and culture, to provide various positions for foreigners. Most enterprises have achieved initial intent of cooperation with these talents.
Zhou Yunshi, deputy director of the Hainan Human Resources Bureau, was invited to answer some questions about the conference and the province’s preferential policies for foreign talents.
Q1: Why is Guangzhou chosen to hold this special talent job fair?
We have held some events such as Fall Talent Connection Conference and the Hainan Free Trade Port Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition in Guangzhou this year, which achieved fruitful results. As one of the core cities in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Guangzhou has providing a lot of favorable policies for foreign high-level talents and innovative and entrepreneurial talents. Therefore, we chose to hold this conference in Guangzhou to encourage an increasing number of talents to work or start a business in Hainan.
Q2: What are the preferential policies for foreign talents?
On September 14th, the Standing Committee of the Hainan Provincial Committee of the CPC deliberated on and approved the Implementation Plan for the Pilot Reform of International Talent Service Management in Hainan Free Trade Port, which was the first of the systemic documents on the reform of international talent service management at province level in China. The plan not only innovates the introduction mechanism of international talents, such as allowing qualified overseas talents to serve as legal representatives of statutory institutions, public organizations and state-owned enterprises, but also improves the evaluation and incentive mechanism for talent training, such as establishing a green channel for the evaluation of foreign talents’ titles and loosening restrictions on participating in qualification examinations.
Q3: What kind of talents are particularly in short supply during the conference?
There are 15 companies in this job fair, providing more than 100 positions, including general manager, operation manager, legal supervisor, financial supervisor, medical teaching and research head, teachers, etc. The construction of Hainan Free Trade Port welcomes the participation of outstanding talents from all walks of life, especially high-tech talents.
Q4: What is the purpose of holding this international talent recruitment conference?
Excellent foreign talents are an indispensable force in the construction of Hainan Free Trade Port. At present, Hainan needs more talents than ever before. This special international talent job fair aims to facilitate more international excellent talents to turn their attention and yearning for Hainan into an actual action of going to Hainan, in order to provide strong support for the construction of Hainan Free Trade Zone and Free Trade Port.
