The 2020 Guangzhou Marathon will kick off on the morning of December 13th at Tianhe Sports Center. The runners will be under starer’s orders at 7:30 am.
The athletes, judges, and volunteers can take the metro for free through the ‘Green Channel’ just by showing their race bib numbers and/or staff member cards.
Metro Line 1 and 3 (including the north extension) will open to passengers at 5:30 am with a running interval of 10 minutes, while the Tram Haizhu Line 1 will not start running until 11:30 am.
The operation time of the APM Line will also be moved back from 7 am to 5:30 am with a running time space of 8 minutes. It will skip Tianhe Sports Center Station from 5:30 am to 7:30 am, and Haixinsha Station from 7:30 am to 10 pm.
Given the numbers of the anticipated audience on Sunday, Guangzhou Metro has taken some corresponding measures to ease the traffic pressure. Some spare trains will also be put into use in view of the passenger flow.
