Wine Song: Chinese Wine Culture Exhibition (酒歌——中国酒文化展)

Wine is one of the oldest drinks, and China is the home of rice wine. With a long history and unique wine-brewing technology, China has become a typical representative of the Oriental wine production industry.


This exhibition takes the representative solar terms of the four seasons, and fuses nature and culture with "wine" as the link. From the aspects including the etiquette, health preservation, custom, export, it explains wine culture and displays the wine-making technology as well as the manufacturing process from ancient to modern age.

Cultural Exhibition of “The Story of The Stone” (《红楼梦》文化展)

The Story of the Stone, also known as Dream of the Red Chamber, is a classic Chinese novel authored by Cao Xueqin. It is a masterpiece of Chinese literature which is famous for its psychological scope and its observation of the world view, aesthetics, life-styles, and social relations of 18th-century China.


Through 126 sets of ancient books, 58 pieces of calligraphy and paintings, as well as 128 cultural relics, this exhibition comprehensively presents the life and social situation of people in the last feudal times, the creation background and cultural environment of the book as well as its indissoluble bonds with Guangdong.


The afternoon tea themed Dream of the Red Chamber is on sale at the coffee shop inside the Guangdong Museum, and you can have a try after visiting the exhibition.

“10X100” Kui Yuan Gallery 10th Anniversary Exhibition (逵园艺术馆十周年展)

Kui Yuan Gallery, which grew out of an ordinary house built by an overseas Chinese in the old Dongshan District, is one of national key cultural relics protection units in China.


2022 marks the 10th anniversary of Kui Yuan Gallery and the 100th anniversary of the construction of the building of Kui Yuan, and this exhibition is held to celebrate that. The artworks included cover a wide range, including Chinese paintings, oil paintings, printmaking, gouache, animation and installation, and you can feel the distinctive personal styles and diverse expressions here.

China three major brocade and gambiered Canton gauze Culture Exhibition (锦绣华冠——中国三大名锦文化展)

China is the home of silk, and silk culture is a shining pearl of Chinese civilization. In the history of the development of Chinese silk varieties for thousands of years, Shu Brocade (蜀绣), Song Brocade (宋锦) and Yun Brocade (云锦) are the three most influential brocades handed down today. Gambiered Canton gauze (香云纱) is an ancient dyed fabric produced in the Pearl River Delta region of Guangdong Province. The complicated production techniques and special silk texture make it enjoy the reputation of "soft gold".


This exhibition is jointly held by the Suzhou Silk Museum, Nanhai Museum and Peasant Movement Institute. Visitors can better understand the historical origin and technology of China's three major brocades and gambiered Canton gauze through the exhibits here.
