The 131st Canton Fair will be held online from April 15 to 19, with a record number of exhibits to be displayed.
Participating companies have uploaded to the online fair more than 2.9 million exhibits including over 900,000 new products, and 480,000 green and low carbon products, said Xu Bing, Deputy Director of China Foreign Trade Centre, at the Fair’s opening press conference held Thursday.

This year’s event will continue to push forward its global partner program, and sign cooperation agreements with 14 industrial and commercial institutions from countries along the Belt and Road including Vietnam, Laos, Kuwait, Iraq, and other RCEP member countries.
Themed as facilitating dual circulation, the Fair will showcase 10 product categories across 50 exhibition areas. More than 25,500 businesses at home and abroad are expected to join the gala.
It is free of charge both for the participating businesses and the cross-border e-commerce platforms involved in the online sessions.
Digital technologies empower online exhibition
The exhibitions cover online display platforms, business matchmaking and cross-border e-commerce.
To ensure trade matchmaking efficiency and user experiences, the Fair has been optimizing the online platform. Also, it has improved its network services to reduce delays in both domestic and overseas access and increase access speed.
In addition, logos for high-end technology enterprises, Chinese time-honored brands, green and low carbon products, intelligent products have been added to increase search accuracy.
Participating enterprises will get access to buyers’ information as well as their business cards with the permission of buyers. They will also be allowed to initiate instant communication with purchasers.
Video training sessions for enterprises and personalized training for exhibitors will be organized as well. A 24-hour intelligent customer service will be at work all through the 10-day fair to aid exhibitions in the usage of the online platform.
New products, technologies, brands and services to make a debut
According to Xu Bing, for the first time, the Canton Fair will launch a series of more than 100 debut activities for new products, technologies, brands and services from China featuring advanced technology, intelligent manufacturing, better life, low carbon and environmental protection, and trade services.
Domestic top retailers and well-known cross-border e-commerce platforms are to be invited to publish purchasing demands and supply chain management standards. The Fair will also cooperate with banks to offer financial solutions to the entry into domestic markets for small and medium enterprises.
10 online forums will be held under the topics of dual circulation, RCEP, carbon peaking and carbon neutrality to help enterprises grasp latest market trends.
Furthermore, this year's Canton Fair Design Award will highlight design innovation. A sustainable development award will be added to encourage and promote green and low-carbon development of related enterprises and industries.
