Learning solid geometry by printing a cube in a 3D-printing machine? Shooting a video combining rare and endangered plants with your first-hand observations for your summer vacation? Sound interesting? Last week, Guangzhou rolled out the 2022 Study Tour Season at the South China National Botanical Garden (SCNBG) and released over 70 study tour routes.

Launched by the Guangzhou Culture, Radio, Television, and Tourism Bureau, the routes cover different themes such as manual working, manufacturing technology, natural geography, and the popularization of plant science.

The mode of outdoor education is designed to conflate sightseeing and hands-on participation, allowing students to have an opportunity to practice what they've learned.

At the opening ceremony, about one hundred children and parents started their first study tour in the SCNBG. Plant experts were invited to guide and show the microscopic world of a leaf, to explain the ancients' way of using plant resources to live in hot and humid Guangzhou, as well as the symbiotic relationship between ancient Cantonese and the circulation of the ecosystem.

During the 2022 Study Tour Season, the SCNBG will offer free guide services and open a series of botanical courses, such as embossing art class, natural observation, natural notes, and natural history class.
