On September 13, the last railway bridge of the under-construction Guangzhou-Shanwei high-speed railway was successfully connected, marking the start of track laying on the whole line.

As one of the key parts of the high-speed railway, Zengjiangte Bridge spans across the Zengjiang Waterway in Zengcheng district of Guangzhou. With a total length of 2569.48 meters, it is a concrete cable-stayed bridge with two towers.

From Xintang Station in Guangzhou to Shanwei Station, Guangzhou-Shanwei high-speed railway is expected to open to traffic in 2023.

By then, the traveling time from Guangzhou to Shanwei will be reduced from the current 2 hours to just about 40 minutes.

With a design speed of 350 km/h, the railway is a major part of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area's high-speed transportation network.

The project will accelerate the integration of Shanwei into Guangzhou’s “One-hour economic and living circle”, as well as accelerate the integration of Eastern Guangdong into the whole Greater Bay Area, and boost rural revitalization.
