The route, run by Interasia Lines in Tokyo, Japan, is expected to meet growing trade demand between the Pearl River Delta region and Japan as well as to provide efficient and convenient logistical services to Sino-Japanese businesses.
There are two vessels in operation, starting and terminating both at Port of Tokyo, passing through Port of Yokohama, Port of Nagoya, Nansha Port, and Shekou Port. The direct link of the top three busiest ports in Japan will accelerate the flow of goods.
Statistics show that the total import and export volume at Nansha container terminals exceeded 250 billion RMB in 2021, 18.8 times of that in 2012, raising the status of Guangzhou Port to the TOP 5 in the world.
In the future, this shipping route will deepen the economic and trade integration between the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) and Tokyo Bay, and further open GBA to the outside world, thereby promoting high-quality trade development.
