Guangzhou eyes 5 super-large logistics hubs in GBA in 14th five-year plan

Recently, Guangzhou Municipal Planning and Natural Resources Bureau announced that Guangzhou would establish 5 super-large logistics hubs and 10 large logistics hubs in the 14th Five-Year Plan period.

The 5 super-large logistics hubs will provide international fist-class standard logistics service with the core function of international logistics centers, including Guangzhou airport logistics hub, Guangzhou Nansha port logistics hub, road-rail combined transport hub of Guangzhou railway container center, Guangzhou east road-rail combined transport hub and Guangzhou-Qingyuan airport modern logistics industrial new town (located in Qingyuan).

Moreover, the 10 large logistics hubs are designed to connect railway stations, highways, industrial parks and markets and distribute in Baiyun, Huangpu, Huadu, Zengcheng, and Conghua. They provide professional logistics service for local production, including trunk line and branch line transportation, processing, warehousing, dispatch, distribution of goods, and financial insurance.

In terms of backbone logistics nodes, Guangzhou will expand the capacity of Yuwotou and Knowledge City logistics nodes (鱼窝头、知识城). 7 brand new backbone logistics nodes will be built, including Longxi, Dagang, Conghua South, Jiulong, Jiebei, Zhongluotan, and Taihe logistics nodes (龙溪、大岗、从化南、九龙、街北、钟落潭、太和).

As the regional manufacturing center, Guangzhou has built an international shipping center, logistics center, trade center, and modern financial service system in recent years. Guangzhou has also developed 5G technology, AI, and digital infrastructure to optimize its logistics service, aiming to establish a rapid freight transport and joint urban distribution system with other GBA cities.

A logistics hub is an area allocated to logistics activities related to the transportation, sorting, dispatch, and distribution of goods for national and international transit.
