On July 3rd, the "Designing the Beauty of Life: 2025 Guangdong-Japan Architecture Sector Exchange Meeting" took place at the Design Palace Hall in Guangzhou. Co-hosted by the Consulate General of Japan in Guangzhou and GICC, the event provided a platform for architects from Guangdong and Japan to exchange ideas on several contemporary architectural themes, including sustainability, barrier-free design, adaptive aesthetics, and spatial innovation.
The conference attracted over 160 participants from the architectural sector, including design institutions, universities, enterprises, and industry associations in Guangdong. Prominent Japanese architectural firms, such as KUMO Space Design Institute, Fujita (China) Construction, Shimizu Corporation (China) Ltd., Takenaka (China) Construction Co., Ltd. and Nikken Sekkei (China) Co., Ltd. participated in the exchange with their insights and expertise.
The event also facilitated an exhibition area for companies, as well as a networking section that promoted valuable connections and resource sharing among enterprises from Guangdong and Japan. Participants engaged in productive communication about potential partnerships and initial cooperation intentions. These interactions have set a strong groundwork for meaningful collaborations in the future, fostering mutual growth and innovation in the architecture sector of both regions.
