The 32nd annual conference of the World Federation of Great Towers (WFGT) is expected to open in Guangdong province's Guangzhou from Sept 6 to 10, gathering 25 members from across the world.
The annual conference is not only a celebration of the world's great towers, but also an important opportunity for Guangzhou to deepen its cooperation with major cities from home and abroad.
WFGT, which was set up in 1989, is an international association of great monuments that includes more than 50 of the world's most famous buildings, such as the Empire State Building in New York, the Eiffel Tower in Paris, and the Burj Khalifa in Dubai. Canton Tower in Guangzhou, the tallest building in China and the third tallest in the world, became a member of WFGT in 2010.
During the annual conference, operation teams of 25 of the world's great towers from 15 countries will participate in several themed sharing events, spanning topics such as smart tourism, big data marketing, and high-quality management.
This year's conference is expected to enhance communication and cooperation among the world's great towers, as well as improve the global influence of Canton Tower, said the person in charge from the management team of Canton Tower.
