The 6th Guangdong 21st Century Maritime Silk Road International Expo 2019 (MSRE) and the 27th Guangzhou Fair 2019 will be held simultaneously at the China Import and Export Fair Complex from August 23 to 26. The MSRE forum will also be held at the Guangzhou Baiyun International Convention Center on August 23-24.

The MSRE will set up three comprehensive exhibition areas and four specialized exhibition areas, providing an area of 160,000 square meters for over 3,500 exhibitors. Since its establishment in 2014, the MSRE exhibition has been successfully held in Dongguan. This year, its moves to Guangzhou is aimed at improving the exhibition's international image.

Showcasing features of B&R countries and economic vitality of GBA

One of the comprehensive exhibitions is a new area for countries along the Belt and Road (B&R). This area is created to showcase the integral images of these countries and their respective products, culture and tourism and specialty handicrafts.

More than 500 enterprises from 92 countries will participate in this section of the expo. A total of 25 countries will make their debut and 62 countries will display their own state images during the exhibition. Distinctive cultural performances will be presented by countries like Malaysia, Georgia and Brazil.

Another new area in the MSRE is designed for cities in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) to display the "9+2" cities in the GBA and to demonstrate the advantages of the competitive industries, advanced business environment and modern service technologies in the GBA.

Propelling MSRE forum to a new level

The two-day MSRE forum, which includes a main conference and six sub forums, will see a record number of 17 foreign politicians and 23 representatives from overseas business associations such as the Indonesia-China Business Council and Iran-China Chamber of Commerce.

Around 1,500 guests from over 40 countries will attend the forum to probe into the issues facing the B&R development and into the combination of the GBA and the B&R.
