The 8th Macao International Travel Industry Expo will be held in Macao from Nov. 6 to 8, bringing together physical and virtual exhibitions in cloud series for the first time, said China's Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR)'s tourism office here on Thursday.

In a press conference held by Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) and Macao Travel Agency Association, MGTO Director Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes said the expo will help Macao's tourism industry to spur economic revival in the sector after the global pandemic.

The event will continue to deliver the SAR's unique strengths and embrace significant opportunities brought by the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area development, she added.

The exhibition will cover a total area of 22,000 square meters this year, accommodating over 660 booths. About 350 exhibitors mainly from the Chinese mainland and Macao have registered for the physical exhibition, while some 50 exhibitors, most of which are tourism offices and entities from other countries and regions, are lined up for the virtual exhibition on the cloud.

The expo will adopt a series of preventive measures against the pandemic, such as requirement for visitors to present Macao's health code and receive temperature measurement upon entry, as well as to wear mask and maintain one-meter social distance.

Venue disinfection, staggered admission hours and other preventive measures related to public catering will also be carried out.
