Registration for the 25th FHC Shanghai Global Trade Show and the 23rd FHC China International Culinary Arts Competition has commenced, organizers announced at a news conference at Shanghai Disneyland on May 17.

The trade show will be held at Shanghai New International Expo Center in November this year.

The FHC - Shanghai Global Food Trade Show is one of the industry's leading trade shows. Last year, the show welcomed a record 127,454 visitors and some 2,500 exhibitors. This year, the event will be further expanded to cover the food, catering, and local culinary culture.

The FHC China International Culinary Arts Competition is organized by Shanghai Sinoexpo Informa Markets International Exhibition Co, Ltd and supported by the Shanghai Restaurants Cuisine Association and the World Association of Chefs' Societies.

The competition is aimed at providing an international platform to people who are passionate about cooking to learn skills and communicate with each other.

There are five competition categories for this year's competition: Western Cuisine Challenge, Chinese Cuisine Challenge, Pastry Challenge, Bakery Challenge, and China International Young Chef Challenge.

The purpose of the competition is to promote and train young chefs, strengthen the development of Western cuisine in China and integrate Chinese and Western cuisine.

"The hotel and catering industry needs to be propped up by more talented chief teams. The cooking future of China is bright, and we are looking forward to more cooperations with FHC," said Mark Hanzel, deputy director of Agricultural Trade Office, US Consulate General Shanghai, during the news conference.
