The ongoing fourth China International Import Expo serves as a major platform for Bank of China to showcase its latest application scenarios and achievements in digital renminbi, according to the bank.

At this expo, visitors have received eye-catching leaflets and posters with rich content delivering basic information about digital RMB during a series of activities held by BOC at the venue.

Visitors can learn how to use digital RMB through the materials and get to know the advantages of the digital currency.

BOC has also set up a special area in the central square of the National Convention and Exhibition Center (Shanghai), in a bid to vividly display the latest achievements made in digital RMB products.

Naked-eye 3D interaction and multimedia videos are utilized to make the experience truly immersive, in which visitors are able to learn how a visual chip wallet, special-shaped wallet or wearable wallet works in reality.

The touch-to-touch payment tool is another service being highlighted. Visitors can simply touch the payment card to the terminal to pay, without the use of a mobile phone.

For those in need of currency exchange, the card can be used at the digital RMB foreign currency exchange machines on-site.

With a passport, users can convert foreign currency cash into equivalent digital RMB using the machine in accordance with the real-time exchange rate without registering or binding a bank account.

BOC has continuously upgraded the point-of-sale systems inside and outside the exhibition venue such as the on-site coffee machines, vending machines, and cultural and creative self-service vending machines to convert digital RMB across multiple scenarios.

The bank has also built a comprehensive financial service network covering catering, retail, accommodation and public transportation so as to create payment platforms for exhibitors or buyers to better experience the convenience of digital currency.

Holding fast to the original commitment to serve the inclusive and convenient development of finance, BOC said it will continue making efforts to popularize digital RMB relying on the CIIE platform and displaying how digital RMB can benefit economic development, people's livelihoods and administrative management through innovative service patterns.
