Chenghai Customs House subordinate to Shantou Customs District issued the first certificate of origin under RCEP for products exported to Malaysia to a fishing net manufacturer in Shantou, as the agreement took effect in Malaysia on March 18th, 2022.
The certificate involved export of polythene fishing nets worth about 634,600 RMB. It allows the company to enjoy zero-tariff treatment in Malaysia.
Shantou Customs offers policy explaination service online and offline and helps local businesses to select the appropriate certificates of origin, as well as guides them to seize the great opportunities offered by the world’s largest trade deal and enlarge their share of market overseas.
After the RCEP entered into force in Malaysia, new tariff reductions and exemptions have been extended to Chinese exports, such as processing aquatic products, cocoa, cotton yarn and fabrics, chemical fiber, stainless steel, industrial machinery and equipment, and accessories.
Businesses are suggested to actively take heed of the tax cuts and rules on countries of origin under the RCEP agreement and choose the best portfolio to enjoy the benefits to the fullest, according to the customs authorities.
