Through the "Belt and Road Georgian Business House" in Guangzhou, its founder Bekar Mikaberidze has brought 12 different flavors of Georgian wine to China. Also, the business house's exhibition center displays a variety of products from 25 countries and regions. "Combining the resources of various countries, here we promote their products for online and offline sales," said Bekar.

Bekar's exhibition center and specialty restaurant in Guangzhou were newly opened in the second half of last year. Under the pandemic, the courage to open new business shows his confidence in the Chinese market.

After graduating with a master's degree in Tianjin, Bekar had worked and lived in Tianjin, Shanghai and Guangzhou. In 2016, he started a trading company in Guangzhou. At the beginning, he mainly exported building materials, furniture and lamps to Georgia, then expanded to countries and regions along the "Belt and Road".

According to Bekar, "Guangzhou, known as a millennium commercial capital with developed commerce and trade, and the Pearl River Delta region is an important manufacturing center. Based in Guangzhou, you can easily contact suppliers in Foshan, Zhuhai, Shenzhen and other areas."

The longer Bekar stayed in China, the more business opportunities he found and has engaged in importing since 2017. Later in 2018, he registered the "Belt and Road Georgian Business House" in Georgia and settled the Chinese headquarters in Guangzhou.

Bekar's business also suffered a lot from the pandemic outbreak in 2020. Surprisingly, he found that China's import volume continues to rise as the country resumed work and production under normalized epidemic prevention and control. Facing such a huge market potential, he initiated the idea to start new businesses of an exhibition center and a restaurant in Guangzhou.

In addition to the Guangzhou headquarter, the Georgian Business House has also landed in Dongguan, and will be opened in cities including Foshan and Sanya.

"We want to open our business house in China's major cities," said Bekar. After the pandemic, Bekar hopes to open more business houses in other countries, and expand this model to overseas markets such as Italy and Cameroon.
