The China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Guangdong Committee (CCPIT Guangdong) kept its service center open to foreign trade companies and foreign-funded companies from October 2 to 7. The center handled a series of consultations and applications during the National Day holiday, according to the CCPIT Guangdong.

The Guangzhou-based Yi Feng Tong import and export company called the service center on October 2 and requested urgent application for certificate of origin as the company had to ship 3 batches of textiles to the Republic of Korea during the holiday. The staff member on duty issued the Certificate of Origin for Korea-China FTA, Certificate of Origin under the ASIA-PACIFIC Trade Agreement and RCEP certificates of origin, which involved goods worth 265 thousand USD and can help reduce 13 thousand USD in import or export tariffs.

The company manager of Yi Feng Tong expressed their gratitude, saying, “We are glad that the center helped us solve the problem during holiday and our goods arrived Weihai of Shandong for custom clearance on October 5.”

According to CCPIT Guangdong, the service center has issued 123 certificates of origin during the holiday, whose destination include RCEP countries, Uzbekistan, Saudi Arabia and the U.S. These certificates involve goods worth 2.68 USD and help reduced 64 thousand in tariffs.

The CCPIT Guangdong and subsidiary branches have issued 10,048 RCEP certificate of origin from January to September this year and helped companies reduce import tariffs of more than 6.2 million USD. Japan and ROK are major destinations, accounting for 72.43 percent and 25.06 percent respectively.
