The opening ceremony of the Photography Exhibition of Friendly Cities between China and Georgia was held in Guangzhou on November 6.

A total of 50 works of photography were displayed at the exhibition hall, showing vivid stories, and splendid sights in the four friendly cities between China and Georgia.

Guangzhou and Tbilisi established the friendly city relationship in January 2014. The two cities have frequent exchanges between governments and have fruitful cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, culture, and education. Guangzhou is the capital city of Guangdong Province, while Tbilisi is the capital of Georgia.

Guangdong's Shaoguan and Georgia's Rustavi established a friendly city relationship in May 2017. Top officials in the two cities have exchanged and promoted cooperation in such fields as economy, trade, science and technology, sports, and tourism.

This year marks the 10th anniversary of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). According to the event's organizer, the exhibition aims to boost people-to-people exchanges between the two countries under the BRI.

The exhibition was jointly held by the Foreign Affairs Office of the Guangzhou Municipal People's Government, the Shaoguan Municipal Foreign Affairs Bureau, and the Guangzhou Library.
