Malaysia has organized 150 Malaysian enterprises and 10 governmental departments and agencies to participate in the 21st China-ASEAN Expo, scheduled to be held from Sept. 24 to 28 in Nanning of south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, according to information revealed at a press conference on Wednesday.

Datuk Mohd Mustafa Abdul Aziz, chief executive officer of Malaysia External Trade Corporation, said via video link that Malaysia, as the country of honor of the expo, will hold activities to link Malaysian enterprises and high-quality Chinese buyers in both countries before the event. A range of Malaysian agricultural and lifestyle products and tourist attractions will be showcased during the expo.

Wei Zhaohui, secretary-general of the China-ASEAN Expo Secretariat, said the expo will provide Malaysian businesses with specialized trade matching and investment facilitation services, and conveniences such as customs clearance, transportation and duty-free options. A series of activities and platforms will help Malaysian products enter the market and expand the international influence of companies.

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Malaysia.

Ahmad Phadil Ismail, consul general of Malaysia in Nanning, said the Expo offers an important platform for Malaysian enterprises to enter the vast Chinese market, enhancing the popularity and market recognition of Malaysian products.

The cooperation between Malaysia and China has created great opportunities, the two countries still have great growth potential in the fields of economy and trade, and the two countries should work together to expand and deepen economic and trade cooperation, he said.
